This solid brass Fair Trade Nepalese vajra (Sanskrit) or dorje (Tibetan) pendant is small but mighty. It has an adjustable waxed cotton cord that allows you to wear the vajra dorje pendant high up, close to your neck, or slung low on your chest according to your preference.

Symbolism & Legend

In the Hindu scriptures, the vajra is the mighty thunderbolt weapon of Indra, god of rain and thunder. In Tibetan Buddhism the vajra or dorje symbolises both the thunderbolt of Enlightenment and the indestructibility of diamond – signifying spiritual strength and resilience.

The Vedas describe Indra s vajra as an open-pronged weapon and, according to Buddhist legend, the Buddha took the vajra from Indra and closed it s prongs together, turning the once fearful weapon into a sceptre symbolising spiritual power, balance and harmony.
